Silo Operator

The Silo Operator is responsible for the timely movement of raw materials into working bins to facilitate production.

Responsibilities

• Selects and sets lines for intake/transfer of feed raw materials
• Monitors condition of silo and contents and reports the same to manager/officer
• Descends into silo to remove bridges, caking etc. as and when required
• Ensures there is enough raw materials in the working bins for production all the times
• Maintains good housekeeping around grinder, top of silos and basement (conveyor #23) and (elevator #24)
• Reports on silo situation on daily basis
• Ensures designated silos/working bins are empty for stock taking purposes
• Any other duties to be assigned by superior officer
• Act and work safely where all jobs are being executed
• Use working tools with a high degree of consciousness to achieve desired results
• Be safety conscious at all times in applying tools and instruments to execute jobs
• Follow up of the health and safety guidelines
• All operations shall aim for zero accidents

Educational Requirements and Experiences

• HND or its equivalent in any field related to mechanics or engineering
• 3 + of work experience as a Silo Operator

Work experience in a production or manufacturing environment is preferable
