Strengthening Partnerships: De Heus Ghana Hosts The Africa Specialist Team
De Heus Ghana recently hosted a 5-day working visit from our African Specialist team, reinforcing our commitment to advancing animal nutrition and farmer success across the continent. The visit, which spanned Accra and Kumasi, created valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, field engagement, and strategic alignment.
The program began in Ghana’s capital, Accra-Tema, where the team held intensive sessions with management and technical staff. These discussions centered on sharing best practices, aligning local and regional strategies, and exploring innovative approaches to farmer support. The collaborative atmosphere emphasized De Heus’ culture of continuous improvement and our mission to deliver tailored solutions to Ghanaian and by far African farmers in the respective countries where Royal De Heus is present.
The second leg of the trip took the delegation to Kumasi, the hub of Ghana’s Ashanti region. Here, the African Specialist team interacted directly with farmers, distributors, and key stakeholders. Visiting farms and retail outlets provided first-hand insights into the realities of livestock and poultry production in Ghana, while also highlighting the unique opportunities for growth within the sector.
Speaking on the visit, Asumang Agyei, the technical lead for the Ghana BU name emphasized the importance of these engagements: “By working closely with our colleagues and partners in the other countries, we ensure that our expertise translates into practical solutions for farmers. This trip has deepened our understanding and reaffirmed our shared goal of supporting sustainable livestock and aquaculture farming in Africa.”
The visit concluded with joint reflections on how De Heus Ghana can continue to drive progress, not only through innovative feed solutions, but also through capacity building, knowledge transfer, and strong partnerships with farmers and industry players.
